Welcome to the Yak Attack!
Yakima Youth Soccer Association
is proud to host the Yak Attack 5v5 Soccer Tournament. Although many tournaments claim to be different and
the best, the Yak Attack totally delivers on that claim. We combine soccer and music to make a totally unique soccer
experience. The philosophy behind the Yak Attack is not to have just a soccer tournament but to create a soccer
experience.
Why A Five-A-Side?
Small sided soccer is used in every practice to teach and better understand the quick game situations that is hard
to duplicate on a bigger scale. Small sided soccer means more touches on the ball which means better ball handlers and
quicker game responses. One of the great things about 5-a-side is that the game teaches the player about the game
of transitions, a key element in the game. It puts defensive players thinking about offense and the offensive players
about defense. What we provide at the Yak Attack is a place where the focus is not on winning but bringing
together players, coaches and fans in a festive atmosphere in which team bonding blossoms. Players get together before
coming to this event to design and make uniforms specifically for this event which adds to the wackiness. The Yak Attack
provides more off the field events than any tournament that you'll ever go to. Besides all the things that go on,
some great soccer is being played. This event is not only a blast to play in but fantastic to watch!
This is why so many teams come back and make the Yak Attack their first tourney of the summer tournament season.
